The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the replacement for the BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) for the US Army. The new Universal Camouflage is designed to be deployable in a wider range of environments then the Woodland camouflage which it replaces. Besides the change in camouflage pattern, the pants have also undergone several major design changes to enhance functionality and ergonomics; the thigh cargo pockets are larger and covered by an angled pocket flap, for easy access whether sitting or standing; a pouch in the knee area allows for insertion of internal knee pads; a bellowed calf storage pocket is added to each leg (providing a total of eight pockets); and the ties in the cuffs are placed in the front. These ACU pants are made to the US government military specifications (mil. spec. FQ/PD 04-05A) using very comfortable and durable 55/45 Cotton/Polyester Ripstop fabric. |
